Meet the Turks Head - February customer of the month !
Pub of the month!!
This is a new feature which is an excuse (if we needed one) to get out and visit customers. This month’s pub is the Turks Head in our local town of Alcester, Warwickshire, B49 5AD.
Owned by Carl and Karen Buxton, who left London and careers in recruitment and marketing 16 years ago to run the Turks Head; this pub is at the heart of Alcester town life.
A friendly welcome, open fires, warmth, chat, good food and great drinks attract a regular crowd. You don’t come here to watch sport TV but to meet with friends and be social. In better weather there is a great garden outside which is a bit of a sun trap…
Carl and Karen feel that their commitment to quality and consistency are fundamental to their success. Staff are consistent too - Aff pictured has been serving at the bar for 7 years. Carl and Karen are always around as well which they feel is crucial.
A free house, it serves an excellent range of beers, local and guest beers and a great selection of wines. It is the only pub in Alcester in the Good Beer Guide 2018 (again) - an achievement considering how many pubs there are in Alcester. They also run the bar at Town Hall events and do outside catering for parties.
New people arrive at the Turks predominantly through word of mouth and Trip Advisor.
